Truro City is delighted to announce that defender Tom Harrison has signed a contract extension with the club.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Tinners from Oxford City in December 2023, was a mainstay of City’s National League South title winning team last term.

However, he missed the final two months of Truro’s history-making campaign, suffering a serious knee injury in a freak incident during a 1-1 home draw with Weymouth.

But after a gruelling recovery period, Harrison has spent time this season on loan at Chippenham Town, to regain match fitness and after being recalled from Hardenhuish Park last week, has now inked extended terms at the Truro City Stadium.

“This is a special moment for me going back into full-time football,” Harrison told trurocity.co.uk. “Last season was such a success for everyone at the football club but I unfortunately picked up a bad injury towards the end of it.

“From when I got injured to now it has been a difficult road with plenty of ups and downs, so now to sign a new contract is exciting, at a great time for me personally and the club.”

Harrison, who came through the ranks at SkyBet Championship side Bristol City and whilst at Ashton Gate, in the late part of 2020, he joined Chippenham on loan.

Close to his spiritual home, it was a no-brainer for all parties concerned that his road back to full fitness in 2025 should include time spent back on familiar territory.

“Getting the minutes in the tank was massive and I will always be grateful to Chippenham for enabling that,” he added. “There are some great people there and still some of the faces that I knew from my first loan spell there four or five years ago.

“I got minutes and overcame the barrier of playing which was a massive positive, even if the results weren’t reflected in the performances.”
