He is alreadt part of the panel appointed by Truro City to shortlist inductees into the club’s Hall of Fame, alongside Dave Deacon, Colin Bradbury, Robin Netherton and John Noble.
Matt will be working closely with the club to continually celebrate and commemorate the storied history of Truro City, to document and preserve it for future generations.
“We are delighted to have appointed Matt as Truro City’s historian,” said Gareth Davies, the club’s head of media and communications. “Matt was the obvious choice for this role given his penchant for the club’s history and his encyclopaedic knowledge of everything Truro City.
“His information has already proved invaluable this season when commemorating player milestones and other notable achievements that need marking.”
Meanwhile, Matt added: “I was born in Truro and first started going to games in 2007, when my love affair for the club started.
“At that time, the club weren’t forthcoming in sharing information so I started a Facebook page and starting putting things up that I thought other fans would find interesting.
“I really started to take notice of the stats around every game and that led to me starting to document the club’s entire history. It is a bit like trying to do a million-piece jigsaw in the dark and although it will take time, I want everything out in the open.
“It is great to see the current owners and staff at the club really try and get involved with the club’s history. It is nice to know where you have came from and who has done what over the years.”
