The Match

Truro will be looking for a return to winning ways as John Askey’s side travel to St Albans City in National League South.

The Tinners were defeated 2-0 by Maidstone United last time out, just the fifth time City have tasted defeat in the league so far this term. But the result still keeps the Cornish outfit fourth in the table and with just 10 points separating the top 13 sides in the division, another maximum haul at Clarence Park would keep Truro in the hunt at the business end.

In Opposition

Recently appointed Saints boss Ian Culverhouse will be looking to build on last week’s impressive point at Worthing, as St Albans battle to pull themselves away from the lower echelons of National League South.

Culverhouse, 60, led Boston United to promotion from National League North last term. But with the Lincolnshire outfit struggling at the wrong end of Step One, he was sacked in October.

However, the former Norwich City and Swindon Town defender wasn’t out of work for long, replacing David Noble, himself relieved of his duties by the Saints, after a difficult start to 24-25.

Home form has been Saints’ Achilles heel so far this term with just one win from nine games. And the fixture computer has just handed the side four away games on the spin, with this match the first home fixture since a 2-0 reverse at the hands of Chippenham Town on November 23.

Last Time We Met

Goals from Andrew Neal and Adam Porter helped City to a brilliant 2-1 away victory at Clarence Park back in March.

Both City’s goals came just after the hour mark and despite Zane Banton pulling one back for the hosts eight minutes from time, the visitors held on for their first away triumph since early January.
