The Match

The penultimate month of the 2024-25 season begins for City in Buckinghamshire with a trip to mid-table Chesham United.

The Tinners ended February unbeaten with a record of three wins and three draws, with two of those victories coming on the road against Hampton & Richmond and Tonbridge Angels respectively.

And tomorrow (Saturday), City will be looking to continue that impressive run of away victories, to keep the side very much in the promotion race.

Last time out, City were held to a 1-1 draw against Weymouth at the TCS. Looking to build on an impressive showing against Slough, Truro took the lead after just seven minutes when Tyler Harvey scored his 16th of the season.

Yassine En-Neyah was upended in the box by Calvin Brooks and Harvey sent visiting custodian Will Buse the wrong way.

Holding an interval lead, City had chances to extend their advantage after the turnaround before Malachi Linton equalised against the run of play for the Terras.

But after being pegged back, the one-way traffic continued, but City couldn’t find a way past an inspired Buse.

In Opposition

Chesham, after winning promotion from the Southern League last term, have made a solid start to life in National League South.

Joint managers James Duncan and Michael Murray have the led the Generals to a position of relative safety, without challenging at the top end of the table.

The new calendar year started well with Chesham only tasting defeat once in eight games. A 3-1 win over Weymouth on February 8 hoisted Chesham firmly into the top half, but a run of three consecutive defeats against Chippenham, Enfield and Hornchurch.

But last time out, Chesham were back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Hampton & Richmond, who themselves have saw their form drop off a cliff since City won at the Beveree earlier this month.

Last Time We Met

In the eye of Storm Bert, City defeated the conditions and Chesham United at a rain lashed TCS.

Connor Stevens put the Generals ahead before goals from Jaze Kabia and Tyler Harvey handed John Askey’s side a 2-1 win.
