City are back on the road tomorrow (Saturday) when John Askey’s side travel to the banks of the Thames to face in-form Hampton & Richmond.
The Beavers currently occupy ninth place in the Vanarama National League South standings – five points behind City, who sit in the final play-off place.
Last time out, the Tinners were held to a 0-0 draw at home by lowly Bath City. In a game of very few chances, City had the better of the goalmouth action. Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain forced the Romans’ gloveman Harvey Wiles-Richards into a fine first half save whilst after the turnaround, Jaze Kabia whistled a free-kick just past the woodwork.
Kabia was involved in the game’s big talking point as he was seemingly fouled by Bath’s last man Ollie Tomlinson, only for referee Philip Eddie to brandish a yellow card at the 11-goal Irishman for simulation.

In Opposition
After a difficult start to 2024-25 for Hampton & Richmond and their new boss Alan Julian, the Beavers are in red-hot form and mounting a charge towards the play-off places.
Defeat to City back in October was the third Hampton had suffered on the trot but after that disappointing 3-0 reverse, in 17 subsequent games since, the Surrey outfit have only tasted defeat twice.
Indeed, Julian’s charges took Torquay United’s unbeaten home record on the final Saturday in January while last time out, they snatched a late deserved equaliser to hold City’s fellow promotion rivals Dorking Wanderers to a 2-2 draw at the Beveree.

Last Time We Met
A brace from Tyler Harvey and a single Connor Riley-Lowe strike saw City keep up their fine start the campaign, with a 3-0 win over Hampton & Richmond.
