Truro City are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Welsh defender Zac Bell from National League side Maidenhead United, for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old, who came through the ranks at Bristol City, spent time playing at National League South level, on loan from the Robins, to Bath City, Yeovil Town and Taunton Town.

He left Ashton Gate last summer and signed for the Magpies, making five appearances for the Berkshire outfit before joining Truro on an initial month’s loan in January.

After this was extended to the end of the current campaign, Bell delivered a string of eye-catching performances as City kept themselves firmly in English football’s most exhilarating promotion race.

Subsequently, City have moved to tie the former Wales under-18 and under-19 international down to a permanent deal.

“My loan spell helped me enjoy my football again after I spent time out injured at Maidenhead,” Bell told trurocity.co.uk. “I’ve come here to Truro City, playing with a good bunch of lads, so I’m really happy and happy to sign permanently.

“Truro have given me a chance to get some consistency back in my game as injuries, before being in and out of squads meant I didn’t have that at Maidenhead.

“I feel like I am back in the flow of things and being given the opportunity to play has seen me back to the levels I know I can reach.”
