Truro City moved up to third in the National League South standings with a victory over promotion rivals Boreham Wood.
It was a deserved triumph for the Tinners, who put themselves into a commanding position thanks to goals from Luke Jephcott and Jaze Kabia in the second half.
However, just as City may have had thoughts of being home and hosed, Chris Bush halved the arrears setting up a grandstand finish.
But Truro held on, despite seven minutes stoppage time, to prevail over a Boreham Wood side that have seen their two recent games to the South West, only garnering a single point from six available.

Home boss John Askey made one change from the side which thrashed Chesham United 4-1 last time out. Kabia, who was withdrawn after just 29 minutes in Buckinghamshire, was only fit enough for the bench, replaced by Dom Johnson-Fisher, who caught the eye with a goal and an assist against the Generals.
And Johnson-Fisher started where he left off against Chesham with his pace and direct running causing the visitors all sorts of problems. The former Whitehawk forward was seemingly impeded by Boreham Wood custodian Nathan Ashmore, before defender Charlie O’Connell stopped Johnson-Fisher’s progress with a shirt pull.
However, referee Philip Eddie waved City’s claims away on both occasions with the home side’s early dominance almost resulting in the first goal after 10 minutes.
A trademark Christian Oxalde-Chamberlain long throw was only half cleared to Connor Riley-Lowe, whose acrobatic effort was tipped over the bar by Ashmore.
Boreham Wood were then dealt an early blow when Jayden Richardson was forced off with an injury, replaced by Erico Sousa.
The Portuguese midfielder saw plenty of the ball, but his side lacked any kind of cutting edge, as City restricted Wood to very little in an attacking sense, whilst at the other end, Riley-Lowe fired into the corridor of uncertainty as the interval approached, with no home player able to turn home.
The hosts started the second stanza in positive fashion and within three minutes of the restart, almost took the lead. Neat play on the right hand side between Oxlade-Chamberlain and Zac Bell saw the Maidenhead loanee into the box, with his cross-cum-shot touched behind for a corner by Ashmore, as Ryan Law hunted a tap in at the back post.
Shortly after, Riley-Lowe hit the side netting with his left foot and as the ball rebounded off the advertising hoardings, it ruffled the back of the net, leading the home fans to think the deadlock had been broken.
They wouldn’t have to wait too much longer until the game’s opening goal did arrive, but not before Wood midfielder Tom Whelan was fortunate not to receive his marching orders for fouls in quick succession on Johnson-Fisher and Bell.

Johnson-Fisher picked up possession and ran at O’Connell and after reaching the edge of the box found Jephcott, who with arrow-like precision, nestled the ball into the left hand corner of Ashmore’s net.
Once again, City stopped Boreham Wood having any sustained spell of pressure around the home side’s box and with Luke Garrard’s side becoming desperate in search of a leveller, Truro doubled their advantage.
Yassine En-Neyah hooked away from danger up to halfway where Kabia battled with Sousa. The 13-goal Irish forward got the better of Wood’s last man, drew Ashmore, who had sprinted off his line, and the ball ended up in the net.
City were in dreamland and despite Boreham Wood battling back from 2-0 against Torquay in their previous match, thankfully lightning didn’t strike twice.
Almost straight from the restart, a hotly disputed free-kick award saw Bush head towards goal with the ball squeezing past Dan Lavercombe and into the net.
Immediately Wood’s tails were up and even more so when there was a curious amount of additional time signalled. Nevertheless, City stood firm, despite Rush heading wide when he should have at least found the target in the dying embers.
