Colin Chegwyn, joined Truro City as a raw 20-year-old in 1964. He would enjoy a stellar career as a City player, representing the Tinners for six seasons, before leaving for Falmouth Town in 1970.

Even success at Bickland Park and many goals scored against City does not detract from Chegwyn’s status as a Tinners great.

His honours won whilst wearing red and black are extensive, starting with the Cornwall Charity Cup during his debut season of 1964-65.

Two years later, City were South Western League Cup champions before Chegwyn’s finest hour in a Truro City shirt came during the 1969-70 season.

The side were South Western League champions with Chegwyn scoring 26 league goals. He also bagged six in the Tinners’ successful Cornwall Senior Cup campaign, which saw Newquay defeated 6-1 in the final.
