In Opposition

Hornchurch, after promotion to Step Two from the Isthmian League last term, have made a solid start to life in National League South.

The Essex outfit currently occupy 12th place in the standings, with a record of 14 wins, 14 draws and 14 defeats from their 42 games to date. The side also have a neutral goal difference after scoring 51 times, whilst shipping 51 too.

Last time out, Hornchurch were held to a stalemate at relegation threatened Welling United, whilst their previous home clash resulted in Weston-super-Mare heading west after a 4-2 win.

Despite Hornchurch only winning once in their previous eight games, their single triumph was significant for the title race, as Urchins boss Daryl McMahon (pictured below), led his side to a 1-0 win over Worthing.

Last Time We Met

City faced the Urchins at the TCS back in January. The game, played out in atrocious conditions, went the way of the Tinners with John Askey’s side prevailing 2-1.
