Truro City will host SkyBet League 1 outfit Plymouth Argyle in a pre-season friendly, ahead of the 2025-26 National League campaign.
The match between the highest ranked football clubs in Cornwall and Devon will take place at the Truro City Stadium on Wednesday, July 16 at 7.30pm.
It will be the second fixture of the Tinners’ pre-season schedule, with John Askey’s charges travelling to Southern League Division One South side Tavistock on Friday, July 11 – 7.30pm.
City will play three more pre-season fixtures after their Argyle test, with those fixtures set to be revealed in the coming days.
Truro and the Greens last met for a pre-season fixture in July 2019, with the Tinners prevailing 1-0 thanks to Louis Rooney’s single strike. Current City defender Ryan Law was in the Argyle ranks for that match, played at Truro’s former home Treyew Road.
This will be the maiden friendly match to take place at the Truro City Stadium, whilst for Argyle, one of the first games in which new boss Tom Cleverly will take charge of the Greens, who were relegated from the SkyBet Championship last term.
