Off the back of record breaking trip to Gateshead and a 10-day break, Truro are on the road again this evening (Wednesday), writes Ronan Tregoning.

For the side’s latest Enterprise National League clash, John Askey’s side Head to the West Midlands to face Solihull Moors at Damson Park – 7.45pm.

Like City, the hosts were not in action last weekend as they also exited the FA Cup at the fourth qualifying round stage, losing to Ebsfleet.

For City, meanwhile, they will take confidence from the point gained on Tyneside and will be hoping for a first maximum haul on the road in Step 1 this time around.

Against Gateshead, Dominic Johnson-Fisher and Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first half strikes were both cancelled out by the Heed who fought back to share the spoils after a 2-2 draw.

Moors faced Hartlepool United and the currently managerless Pools, who City face later this month, were 2-0 winners. Vadaine Oliver and Matty Daly netted for the North East outfit, who were victorious for the first time since late September.

Opposition view

A winless start to the season for Solihull cost Matt Taylor his job with former Halifax Town boss Chris Millington taking over as their new manager.

The 50-year-old has overseen two wins, a draw and two losses in his first five games. The Moors will be hoping they can keep moving further up the table away from the relegation zone.

Jacob Wakeling has been a standout performer for the West Midland side. Scoring six goals in his eight appearances since joining from Peterborough United at the start of September.

Tale of the Tape

This is the first time City have faced the Moors. The return fixture between the two sides will take place at the Truro City Stadium on March 25, 2026.

Connections

Michaël Hervé is a bridge between the two teams. The former PSG academy player left France to join Solihull although he failed to make an appearance before bursting onto the scene at Truro.

Fighting to stay in the National League South during 2018-19, Hervé was picked up in January and made an instant impact, scoring twice on his debut in a 3-3 draw against Weston-super-Mare.

Despite only featuring nine times for the Tinners, the Frenchman certainly made an impression, scoring two further goals and seeing red against Dulwich Hamlet.

However, it was possibly the incident that occurred in a home match against Concord Rangers that Hervé is best remembered. The Frenchman suffered a serious shoulder injury and could not be moved off the Treyew Road turf. An ambulance was called, but a three hour delay saw the match abandoned and replayed later in the season as City were relegated to the Southern League.

The attacking midfielder, once fully fit, then left to return home to France with Mézières.
