Truro City will face fellow National League side Braintree Town in the quarter finals of this season’s National League Cup.

The Tinners will host the Essex outfit at the Truro City Stadium on Tuesday, January 27 – 7.00pm.

City have progressed to the last eight after an impressive group stage in which Premier League 2 sides Southampton (3-2), Fulham (1-0) and Brighton & Hove Albion (3-0) were all defeated at TR4.

The side’s only loss came against West Ham United (0-3) in November, with the visiting Hammers naming a side with significant Football League, International and Premier League experience.

Along with progression to the knock-out stages after entering the competition for the first time, City also posted the highest average attendance over four pool matches in the entire competition of 1,646.

In Pool C, Truro were the only side to record crowds of four figures. Overall, City were the only team to attract a four figure gate to every fixture.

The highest gates in the competition were:

  1. Rochdale vs Manchester United (2,960)
  2. Brackley Town vs Manchester United (2,942)
  3. Truro City vs West Ham United (2,266)
  4. Truro City vs Southampton (1,909)
