Truro City can confirm that, at present, the pitch at Roots Hall is in a playable condition ahead of Saturday’s Enterprise National League fixture against Southend United.
The home club is mindful that temperatures from Friday into Saturday are forecast to fall to around -2°C, and preparations – including the use of frost covers which will continue to be in place overnight – are being taken to manage any potential impact this may have.
Truro City has been in regular communication with the match referee and Southend United since Thursday to keep all parties fully informed.
With the pitch currently playable, Truro City departed on our journey to Essex at 9.15am this morning (Friday), with a shared commitment from all sides to do everything possible for the game to go ahead.
The referee has determined that a precautionary pitch inspection will take place at 12.30pm on Saturday (tomorrow).
Truro City have been reassured that every effort will be made by Southend United to ensure the fixture can proceed as scheduled.
Supporters will be kept updated with any further developments through Truro City’s official channels.
