Assistant boss Stewart Yetton says Truro City know exactly what challenges they face against Worthing tomorrow – 3.00pm.

After defeating Enfield 3-1 at the Truro City Stadium yesterday, it is a quick two-day turnaround for the Tinners over this, the summer bank holiday.

The Rebels, who agonisingly missed out on promotion to Step One last term, have made an unbeaten start to this new campaign, winning once and drawing twice.

And their performance in lowering the colours of City at Bolitho Park in January, was, by Yetton’s own admission, one in which his side were taught a lesson by the Sussex outfit.

“Worthing are a really tough side and you don’t get any easy games at this level,” he told trurocity.co.uk. “We know they will be very fit and last year at home, when we played them at Parkway, they gave us a bit of a schooling so we know what they are all about.

“Whoever the opposition are though, it should be another great game and a great day for the fans on Monday.”

Another sizeable attendance is expected at the TCS for the Rebels’ visit with Yetton hailing the impact the home support had on the Tinners, especially in the second half, against Enfield.

“It was very mice for us to win in front of our fans,” he added. “I thought they were magnificent when we played Dorking and the crowd being over 1500 again is amazing.

“The fans made a lot of noise when we were playing towards them in the second half. It really spurred us on and that makes a massive difference.

“All in all, it was a really enjoyable day.”

The 39-year-old and club record leading scorer may not have been quite as chipper after 45 minutes against the Towners yesterday, with City trailing 1-0 at the break.

However, he revealed that an instruction to raise the tempo of the game was the key message delivered by boss John Askey, and this very much had the desired effect.

“We just reiterated that we needed to do things quicker,” Yetton revealed. “In the first half, we didn’t do things quick enough and it showed for the goal we conceded. But by quickening things up, we knew we would get a foothold in the game and so it proved and that was pleasing.”
