Truro City are delighted to announce the signing of Farren Simons until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

The 18-year-old midfielder will spend the season on loan to Southern League Premier outfit Tiverton Town, who are managed by ex-Tinners chief Leigh Robinson.

Simons had been part of the development set up at now Championship outfit Derby County, but left Pride Park during the summer.

He joined City on trial, taking part in the side’s first four friendlies, netting in victories over Torpoint Athletic and, ironically, his now parent club Tiverton.

“It was the goal, when I left Derby, to get first team minutes at the highest level possible,” Simons told trurocity.co.uk. “That was one of the reasons I joined Truro and now Tiverton on loan.

“Playing senior football is a completely different dynamic compared to academy football as it is a lot quicker, faster and more physical. To get some minutes in pre-season and now the league has started, is certainly a step in the right direction.

“The aim now is to do all I can at Tiverton and then do enough to earn another deal with Truro”
