Truro City’s next home match, on Saturday October 5, with Hemel Hempstead Town the opposition, will mark the club’s 135th anniversary.

The Tinners were formed on September 18, 1889, at the City Hotel in Truro and the club also became founder members of the Cornwall Football Association.

City first took to the field in a competitive match on October 4 with Penzance the opposition in a match that took place a short distance from the TCS at Truro College.

Truro were 7-1 winners and 135 years later, the club are looking forward to a bright and progressive future, playing home matches at the purpose built Truro City Stadium.

Along with the launch of the club’s Hall of Fame, the match against Hemel will be a celebration of Truro City’s storied past, which has been littered with success and in the last 20 years, the Tinners have become Cornwall’s highest ranking football club.
