Truro City are hunting a fourth consecutive win on home soil when Chippenham Town travel to the Duchy – 7.45pm.
John Askey’s side top the National League South form guide with an impressive record of four victories and two draws in their last six games.
Overall, the side are unbeaten in seven, with City last having their colours lowered by current league leaders Eastbourne Borough on September 7.
Last time out, Truro made the near 500-mile round trip to Arbour Park to face Slough Town and the visitors were unfortunate not to claim all three points.
After a tight opening hour, substitute Jaze Kabia emphatically fired home to put City ahead. And it looked like Askey’s troops would hold on comfortably for a third away triumph of the campaign.
However, a hotly disputed corner saw Slough equalise when Bulgarian striker Slavi Spasov forced the ball home from the resulting flag-kick.
City had chances through Tom Harrison and Andrew Neal as time ticked down, but Slough, despite losing John Gilbert in stoppage time for two yellow cards, held on and the spoils were shared with a 1-1 draw.
In Opposition
Chippenham can be considered something of a bogey outfit for City with the Cornish outfit last lowering the Bluebirds’ colours in 2017.
And Gary Horgan’s side arrive here in Cornwall on the back of arguably their most impressive result of the season last time out.
Facing Welling United at Park View Road – City’s next away destination this coming Saturday – Chippenham were resounding 4-0 winners over the Wings, to heap pressure on colourful home boss Rod Stringer.
It was a lightning start from Town as they scored three times in the opening 20 minutes to effectively kill the game off before it had really begun. Leone Gravata, Harry Parsons and Tom Owen-Evans found the mark early on with the latter doubling his personal tally, nine minutes from time, to seal an emphatic away win.
That was Chippenham’s third win on the road this term with the Bluebirds also defeating basement dwellers Aveley (1-0) and fellow strugglers Weymouth (2-0) away from Hardenhuish Park.
Bits and Pieces
- City are unbeaten in six matches, winning three consecutively at home.

- Truro have the joint best goal difference in National League South.
- City’s last win over the Bluebirds came in 2017, with Andrew Neal (pictured below) scoring the only goal of a 1-0 triumph.
