Truro take their unbeaten league run, which currently stands at eight games, to Hertfordshire this evening with the side facing off against Boreham Wood.

A gruelling run of fixtures in November, which stands at eight, sees the side on the road for six of those games. But with three matches overall down, City have picked up draws at Slough and at home to Chippenham whilst last time out, Welling United were defeated 2-1 at Park View Road.

It was Truro’s first ever win in DA16 against the struggling Wings, who played almost all the second half a man light when skipper Dave Winfield was shown a second yellow card.

All the goals came in the first period with Welling going ahead through Zain Walker’s deflected effort. Jaze Kabia restored parity just after half hour mark, with Tom Harrison scoring the winning goal nine minutes before the break – his first of the campaign.

In Opposition

After suffering relegation from Step One last term, Boreham Wood parted ways with their long-serving manager Luke Garrard after nine years in charge at Meadow Park.

His tenure was littered with success which included a famous FA Cup run in 2021-22, which was eventually ended by Everton after claiming to notable scalps of AFC Bournemouth and AFC Wimbledon.

Garrard (pictured below) also led Wood in three play-off campaigns and in 2018, they were just 90 minutes away from the Football League before falling at the last hurdle, defeated by Tranmere Rovers.

Garrard and Wood announced the parting of their ways back in April and then for the start of this campaign, Ross Jenkins was appointed as his successor.

However, after just 121 days in charge, Jenkins was sacked in early September, replaced by Garrard.

Currently outside the play-off places, Boreham Wood were victorious against Farnborough in their most recent home game, before losing to strugglers Avelely at Parkside, last time out.

Last Time We Met

City have only faced Boreham Wood four times with the last of those coming the 2012-13 season, which saw Truro relegated back to Step Three, with the club encountering financial difficulties.

During the aforementioned campaign, the game at Meadow Park saw the two teams play out a 0-0 stalemate.

Earlier that season at Treyew Road, Truro triumphed 2-0 with Ben Williams and current assistant boss Stewart Yetton were on target.
