Truro City travel across the South Coast to face Weymouth this evening in National League South.

The Tinners will arrive in Dorset with a record of just one defeat in 10 league games, with just two of four defeats suffered so far this season coming on the road.

John Askey’s side currently occupy second place in the standings, behind leaders Weston-super-Mare. City kept on the Seagulls coat tails with a hard fought 2-1 win over Chesham United last time out.

In the eye of Storm Bert, Truro fell behind just before the break when Connor Stevens hammered home a loose ball in the box. And with 15 minutes left, it looked like the Generals would keep their unbeaten record away from the Meadow intact.

But City’s prolific strike force of Jaze Kabia and Tyler Harvey came to the fore with both scoring inside 60 seconds to propel Truro ahead.

There were some nervy moments as time ticked down with Connor Riley-Lowe clearing Lewis Rolfe’s effort off the line, but Truro held on for a 10th league triumph so far this term.

In Opposition

The Terras currently occupy 22nd place in the table and they are yet to win at the Bob Lucas Stadium in 2024-25.

Both Weymouth’s wins have come on the road with goals the root cause of their struggles. Mark Molesley’s side have found the net just 11 times, compared to City, who have scored nearly three times that amount.

However, City will have to be at their very best this evening as Weymouth demonstrated that on their day, they can be a match for anyone at this level, by defeating Weston-super-Mare in the FA Trophy.

Last time out, Weymouth went down by a single goal at Hornchurch.

Last Time We Met

Our last clash with Weymouth took place in April this year, at City’s temporary home of Meadow Park, Gloucester.

With both teams safe from relegation, the match was typical end of season fare with chances at a premium and the game finished 0-0.

Earlier in the campaign, City travelled to Dorset and lost 2-0. Calvin Brooks scored the opening goal for the hosts, who were then managed by Bobby Wilkinson.

With the game evenly poised, City then put through their own net to ensure the points stayed at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
