The Match

It is third versus fifth in National League South as Truro City play host to Boreham Wood at the TCS this evening – 7.45pm.

And City come into this eagerly anticipated clash in fine fettle, unbeaten in seven games and on the back of a fine 4-1 win at Chesham United last time out.

Goals from Connor Riley-Lowe and Tyler Harvey gave City a 2-0 lead inside the first 15 minutes, with substitute Dom Johnson-Fisher adding a third just before the interval.

The points were then certainly travelling west at full-time after 66 minutes when Luke Jephcott tapped home after a lightning Johnson-Fisher counter attack.

The last word did go to the home side as they grabbed a consolation through Mitchell Weiss, but it did little to dampen the mood of City’s players and their travelling supporters, after a third consecutive away win.

In Opposition

Boreham Wood travel to Truro from their temporary base of Carlyon Bay, currently occupying third place in the National League South standings.

Luke Garrard’s side claimed a dramatic 2-2 draw against fellow promotion chasers Torquay United last time out, with goals from Abdul Abdulmalik and Junior Dixon cancelled out strikes from Jordan Young and Matt Jay.

Wood did not return to Hertfordshire after their Plainmoor clash, opting instead to stay in the South West, taking up temporary residence on the outskirts of St Austell, whilst training at Boscawen Park, home of St Piran side St Dennis yesterday (Monday).

Like City, the Wood know that a victory could like Garrad’s charges to second in the table, remaining very much in the hunt for an immediate Step One return after suffering relegation in 2023-24.

Last Time We Met

City travelled to Meadow Park in November, with the home side prevailing by a single goal to nil.
