Bristol born Joe Broad came through the ranks at Plymouth Argyle, making his first team debut in August 2001 in a match against Hull City.

However, with Argyle moving in an upward trajectory under Paul Sturrock, Broad found game time hard to come by at Home Park.

He joined Yeovil Town on loan before joining Torquay permanently in 2003. After a single season with the Gulls, it was a move to Walsall next and two loan spells at Redditch United.

The Saddlers’ player-boss Paul Merson allowed Broad to leave the Bescot Stadium in the early part of 2006, then signing for Truro City.

Like fellow Hall of Fame inductees Stewart Yetton and Jake Ash, Broad was part of all City’s promotion winning campaigns, as the club rose from the Step Six to National League South. He also stuck with Truro during the club’s financial troubles before leaving in 2014.

Broad is perhaps best remembered for scoring the third and final goal in the 3-1 FA Vase final win over AFC Totton at Wembley.

Joe will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame before the Good Friday game against Torquay United.
