Back for his third spell with City, Rooney, like Billy Palfrey, joined Truro from Plymouth Parkway in the summer of 2023.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Rooney first joined Truro on loan from Plymouth Argyle in 2018 before making that move a permanent one 12 months later.

His career has also included brief spells with both Bury and Bath City.

Rooney missed the first month of last term and after waiting patiently for his opportunity, grabbed it with both hands, delivering a number of telling contributions, whilst making the holding midfielder role his own, as City clinched the National League South title.
