Truro City are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Irish winger Jaze Kabia after a successful trial period.

The 24-year-old has inked a one-year deal with the Tinners and is available for selection as Truro host Dorking Wanderers tomorrow (Saturday).

He featured in the second half of City’s most recent pre-season match away to Gloucester City and caught the eye of manager John Askey.

The Cork born midfielder came through the ranks at Cobh Ramblers and after a spell with Shelbourne, moved to Scotland where he gained Premiership experience with Livingstone.

He also spent time on loan at Falkirk, Morton and Queen of the South before moving back to his hometown club Cork City 12 months ago.

But in the last winter transfer window, he crossed the Irish sea once more and joined Clyde, but left Douglas Park at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

“I spoke to the manager prior to my trial game and he explained the goals and ambitions of this club,” Kabia told trurocity.co.uk.

“He also told me what the short-term goals are for this season and it is exciting, something I immediately wanted to be a part of.

“It was great to get the deal over the line and I can’t wait to get started. Pre-season, I have been training on my own and with one of my former clubs, so I feel fit and don’t feel far off.

“Games will improve my fitness and I look forward to being involved with Truro City.

“I know it will different coming here, compared to what I have experienced in Scottish football. It has helped me to become the player I am today and I had a good stint up there.

“It was time for a fresh challenge and I have heard all about English football, but only experienced it briefly. It is time for me to kick on, get the first game of the season out the way, and then see where things take me and the club.”
